- Cleans metal, composites and other materials without changing the base material
- Flexible pads adapt to irregular surfaces and get into corners and tight spaces without compromising performance
Scotch-Brite Ultra Fine hand pad 7448+ is specially designed for pre- and post-processing of metal surfaces and preparation of substrates for painting. Unlike fine steel wool, they do not fray during use, do not rust after use and do not leave fine metal chips. They are flexible and long-lasting.
Use Scotch-Brite Ultra Fine hand pad 7448+ instead of fine steel wool for pre- and post-processing metal surfaces and preparing substrates for painting. Our grey pads are designed to work cleaner and longer than steel wool and, unlike steel wool, they do not fray during use, do not rust after use and do not leave fine metal chips. Scotch-Brite Ultra Fine pads are filled with densely spaced silicon carbide abrasive grains, a very sharp synthetic material typically used in low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. The densely packed particles deliver consistent, uniform abrasive action throughout the life of the pad and the mineral disintegrates faster than alumina for a superior finish. Designed for ease of use, they get into tight corners and surfaces with small details without changing the size of the base material. Use them for cleaning, finishing and polishing without having to adjust, flip or replace them mid-task. Our versatile hand pads are a great addition to any workshop's toolbox and can be used manually, combined with a hand pad block or used on a line sander so you can work faster on larger areas. Scotch-Brite abrasive pads are unique surface conditioning products consisting of abrasive grains embedded in non-woven nylon fibres. Combining abrasive beads with non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product life of the pad. The open web material remains cool during use and is full-bodied, keeping the abrasive minerals performing at a high level as the nylon fibres are less likely to clog.
